LaseMD Ultra.
LIGHTEN AND BRIGHTEN ALL YEAR ROUND
LaseMD Ultra is a 1927 nm non-ablative fractional thulium laser designed to improve pigmentation, sun damage, uneven tone and overall skin quality; with significantly less downtime than more aggressive resurfacing treatments.
The LaseMD Ultra delivers laser energy in a fractional pattern, creating thousands of microscopic treatment zones while leaving surrounding tissue intact. These controlled microthermal areas prompt renewal and help address visible photodamage and unwanted pigment without full-surface ablation.
What we treat?
LaseMD Ultra may be used to improve the appearance of:
Sun Damage & Photodamage
Brown Spots & Solar Lentigines
Freckles
Uneven Skin Tone
Dullness
Rough or Uneven Texture
Fine Lines
Overall Skin Quality
How It Works.
Targets pigment and smooths skin
The 1927 nm thulium wavelength has a strong affinity for water within the skin. Ultra delivers that energy in a fractional pattern, producing small, controlled areas of thermal effect separated by untreated tissue that supports recovery.
As the skin moves through its natural renewal process following treatment, unwanted pigment gradually comes to the surface and sheds. At the same time, the controlled thermal response supports progressive improvements in skin texture and quality.
Because the treatment is fractional rather than fully ablative, we can create meaningful change without the recovery associated with more intensive resurfacing procedures.
Why We Love It.
Corrects sun damage and evens skin tone
Ultra sits in a sweet spot in our laser lineup: more corrective than a facial or superficial exfoliating treatment, without jumping straight to aggressive resurfacing.
We especially love it when the goal is to address pigmentation, photodamage and overall tone while keeping downtime relatively manageable.
Ultra can be dialled up or down according to what we are treating and how much recovery makes sense for you. That flexibility lets us use it as a lighter refresh or build it into a more deliberate corrective series.
Ultra VS. More Aggressive Resurfacing.
LIGHTEN AND BRIGHTEN ALL YEAR ROUND
Ultra is non-ablative, so treatment can influence selected areas of the skin without removing the full epidermal surface. We often consider it when tone, sun-related pigment and photodamage are the priority and a shorter recovery is preferred.
More intensive resurfacing treatments, such as fractional CO₂, may be better suited when the goal is deeper correction of concerns such as advanced photoaging, deeper wrinkles, significant texture changes or acne scarring.
The choice comes down to the tissue we need to influence and the level of resurfacing that is appropriate; not a hierarchy of which device is 'best.'
K Luxe.
K-Luxe combines XERF and Lase MD Ultra to address skin firmness, pigmentation and overall skin quality in one personalized treatment plan.
XERF delivers controlled radiofrequency energy beneath the skin’s surface to support collagen remodelling and improve the appearance of skin laxity, while LaseMD Ultra uses fractional laser energy to target sun damage, uneven tone and textural irregularities.
Together, these complementary technologies allow us to address multiple signs of skin aging, and supporting a firmer, smoother and more radiant complexion. Treatment settings and sequencing are tailored to your skin, concerns and goals.
Total Skin Solution.
Two technologies. One comprehensive Approach.
Our Total Skin Solution combines Genius RF Microneedling with LaseMD Ultra to address multiple aspects of skin aging and overall skin quality.
Genius delivers radiofrequency energy into the dermis to support collagen remodelling, improve texture and address skin firmness. LaseMD Ultra complements this approach by targeting superficial pigmentation, sun damage and uneven tone through non-ablative fractional resurfacing.
Together, these technologies allow us to address concerns at different depths within a coordinated treatment plan.
The treatments may be performed during the same appointment when appropriate, with treatment settings, sequencing and recovery tailored to your skin.
Your Ultra Treatment.
What to Expect During Treatment
Your skin is assessed and cleansed before treatment, and topical numbing may be applied depending on the treatment intensity and area being treated.
The Ultra handpiece is then passed systematically across the treatment area, delivering controlled fractional laser energy into the skin. Most patients describe the sensation as warmth, heat or a prickling feeling.
Treatment itself typically takes approximately 20–30 minutes, although your full appointment may be closer to an hour when preparation and numbing are included.

THE THINGS YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO KNOW.
Below are a few common details about our Ultra treatments. Have a specific question? Reach out to us anytime and we'll be happy to help.
Is There Downtime?
Ultra is considered a relatively low-downtime resurfacing treatment, but low downtime doesn't mean no downtime.
Immediately following treatment, the skin may feel warm and appear pink or red. Over the following days, it can develop a dry or sandpaper-like texture as the treated skin renews.
Mild flaking may occur, and recovery varies depending on the intensity of your treatment. Most patients can continue normal day-to-day activities relatively quickly, although your skin may look and feel like it has been treated for several days.
Does It Hurt?
Ultra is generally well tolerated. Most patients describe the treatment as warm, hot or prickly rather than painful.
Topical numbing may be used beforehand to make the treatment more comfortable, particularly when higher treatment intensities are planned.
When Will I See Results?
Skin often begins to look brighter and smoother as the initial healing and shedding process occurs.
Improvement continues progressively after treatment as pigmentation clears and the skin renews. Your final outcome and timeline will depend on what we're treating, the intensity of your treatment and whether Ultra is being performed as a standalone treatment or as part of a series.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
There isn't one magic number.
Some patients choose Ultra as an occasional skin refresh, while more established pigmentation or photodamage may benefit from a planned series of treatments.
Your treatment frequency will be based on your skin, the concern we're treating and how your skin responds along the way.
Important Considerations
LaseMD Ultra may not be appropriate for every skin type or condition. Active skin infections, open wounds, significant irritation, recent tanning and certain medications or skincare products may require treatment to be modified or postponed.
Temporary redness, swelling, dryness, rough texture and flaking may occur. Less commonly, laser treatment can cause burns, blistering, infection, scarring or changes in pigmentation.
Patients with melasma or a history of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation require particular care, as heat and inflammation can sometimes worsen pigmentation rather than improve it.
Your nurse will assess your skin, review relevant precautions and provide individualized preparation and aftercare instructions. Consistent sun protection is essential throughout your treatment plan.
