Skin Boosters.

Let Skin Quality Take Centre Stage

Skin boosters are injectable treatments designed to improve selected aspects of skin quality without focusing on facial contouring or significant volume enhancement.

Hyaluronic acid-based formulations can be placed within the skin to address specific concerns, depending on the product selected and its authorized use.

At The Infirmary, skin booster treatments, including the babyGLOW approach are customized to you and your skin. Product choice, placement and treatment schedule are based on your skin, medical history and priorities, rather than a preset injection formula.

Our focus is on supporting skin quality while preserving your natural facial features.

How It Works.

The Science Behind Skin Boosters

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring component of the skin that helps bind water and contributes to tissue hydration.

Certain injectable hyaluronic acid formulations are designed for placement within the skin rather than for creating significant structural volume.

Depending on the formulation, treatment may involve a series of small injections distributed across an appropriately selected area.

The properties, injection depth, intended effects and duration of treatment differ between products. Your provider will determine whether a skin booster is appropriate and explain what the selected formulation is intended to achieve.

Why We Love It.

Beyond Volume & Contouring

Not every aesthetic concern requires additional volume, a change in facial contours or an intensive resurfacing procedure.

Skin boosters offer another option for patients whose concerns relate primarily to skin quality.

They allow us to take a more nuanced approach to injectable treatment, considering the condition of the skin itself rather than focusing exclusively on facial structure.

We particularly value the opportunity to integrate these treatments into a broader skin health plan that considers skincare, sun protection and other treatments where appropriate.

The goal is a treatment plan that addresses your concerns without introducing interventions you don't need.

Where It Fits.

Finding the Right Approach

Skin boosters occupy a different place within our injectable treatment offerings.

Skin boosters focus on specific skin-quality concerns.

During your consultation, we'll determine whether a skin booster, another treatment or a combination of approaches is suitable.

your Skin Booster Treatment.

Your appointment begins with an assessment of your skin, medical history, previous injectable treatments and goals.

Your provider will discuss the available options, anticipated benefits, limitations, potential risks and alternatives.

Once a treatment plan has been established and informed consent obtained, the skin is cleansed and prepared.

The selected formulation is administered using an injection technique appropriate to the product and treatment area.

You may notice temporary injection-site bumps, redness, tenderness or swelling immediately afterwards.

Before leaving, you'll receive individualized aftercare instructions, information about expected recovery and a follow-up plan where appropriate.

The Things You Actually Want To Know.

Below are a few common details about our skin booster  treatments. Have a specific question? Reach out to us anytime and we'll be happy to help.

Is there any downtime?

Some redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or small injection-site bumps can occur. These effects often improve over several days, although bruising or persistent swelling may last longer.

Recovery depends on the formulation, injection technique and treatment area.

Does It Hurt?

You may experience brief pinching, stinging, or pressure during the injections. Your injection will discuss appropriate comfort measures before treatment including topical numbing if appropriate.

How Long Do Results Last?

Results are temporary, but there is no single duration that applies to all skin boosters.

Longevity depends on the product, treatment area and individual response. Product-specific expectations will be discussed during consultation.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Some treatment plans involve a single session, while others may require a series.

The appropriate number and spacing of appointments depend on the formulation and your response. We will not recommend a universal schedule for every patient.

What Should I Avoid Afterwards?

Avoid unnecessary pressure or rubbing over the injection sites. Your provider may also recommend temporarily avoiding strenuous exercise, excessive heat and potentially irritating skincare.

We recommend avoiding makeup immediately following injections. Your provider will advise when it is appropriate to resume, based on the condition of your skin and the treatment performed.

Follow the instructions provided for your specific treatment rather than applying a generic aftercare protocol.
