Hollywood Spectra Carbon Peel

Your Glow, Without The Grand Recovery

The Hollywood Spectra Carbon Peel is a laser-assisted facial designed to refresh the complexion, gently exfoliate the skin and improve the appearance of congestion and uneven texture.

The treatment combines a specialized carbon lotion with laser energy to lift away surface debris and dead skin cells, leaving the skin looking brighter and feeling smoother. With relatively little downtime for most patients, it's an option for routine skin maintenance or a pre-event refresh.

How It Works.

The Three-Step Process

  1. Apply: A specialized carbon lotion is applied to the skin, settling into pores and adhering to surface debris.
  2. Activate: The Hollywood Spectra laser gently heats the carbon lotion using a controlled laser setting.
  3. Exfoliate: A second laser pass removes the carbon particles along with attached surface debris, providing gentle exfoliation and revealing a refreshed complexion.

Why We Love It.

More Than a Facial

The Carbon Peel offers something between a traditional facial and a more intensive laser treatment.

It provides laser-assisted exfoliation without the extended recovery associated with ablative resurfacing, making it a useful option for patients who want to address dullness and congestion without committing to significant downtime.

We particularly like its versatility as an occasional skin refresh or part of an ongoing maintenance plan.

Where It Fits.

Finding the Right Approach

The Hollywood Spectra Carbon Peel is our laser-assisted facial for patients looking to refresh dull, congested skin with minimal disruption to their routine.

It sits between a traditional facial and more intensive laser resurfacing, offering surface exfoliation without the extended recovery associated with treatments such as LaseMD Ultra or eCO₂.

It's an option for occasional maintenance, pre-event preparation or a series of treatments focused on improving the appearance of congestion and uneven texture.

For deeper acne scarring, significant pigmentation or more advanced textural concerns, we'll discuss whether a different treatment would be more appropriate.

Your Carbon Peel Treatment

Your appointment begins with a skin assessment and review of your current skincare, recent treatments and relevant medical history.

After cleansing, your nurse applies the specialized carbon lotion and allows it to settle on the skin.

The Hollywood Spectra laser is then used to activate and remove the carbon through the prescribed treatment sequence. You'll hear a snapping sound and may notice mild warmth or a prickling sensation.

Once treatment is complete, finishing skincare and sun protection are applied as appropriate.

Most patients can return to their usual activities shortly afterwards, although individual skin responses vary.

The Things You Actually Want To Know.

Below are a few common details about our Hollywood Spectra Carbon Peel treatment. Have a specific question? Reach out to us anytime and we'll be happy to help.

Is there any downtime?

The Carbon Peel is generally a low-downtime treatment. Temporary redness, warmth, dryness or mild sensitivity can occur. We recommend allowing some flexibility before an important event, especially if it's your first treatment.

Does It Hurt?

Most patients find the treatment tolerable. You may experience mild warmth, prickling or a light snapping sensation as the laser passes over the skin.

When Will I See Results?

Some patients notice a brighter, smoother-looking complexion after one treatment. Improvements in congestion and overall skin appearance may require repeated sessions. Results vary and are temporary.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

One treatment may be suitable for an occasional refresh. A series may be recommended for ongoing concerns such as congestion or uneven texture. Your nurse will advise on frequency based on your skin's response.

What Should I Avoid Afterwards?

Use gentle skincare and broad-spectrum sunscreen. Avoid additional exfoliation, retinoids and other potentially irritating active ingredients until your skin has settled. Follow the instructions provided by your nurse.

Makeup can generally be resumed once the skin is comfortable and any redness has settled. Your nurse may recommend waiting until the following day if you experience sensitivity.
