Targeted Treatment for Redness and Visible Vessels

Clarity II is an advanced dual-wavelength laser designed to improve visible blood vessels, facial redness and selected vascular lesions. Using precise laser energy, it targets unwanted vessels while minimizing injury to the surrounding skin.

With 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelengths, Clarity II allows us to customize treatment according to vessel size, depth, location and individual skin characteristics.

From isolated facial capillaries to persistent redness associated with rosacea, Clarity II offers a targeted approach to improving the appearance of vascular concerns and creating a more even-looking complexion.

How It Works.

The Science Behind Clarity II

Clarity II uses two laser wavelengths (755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG) to deliver targeted energy into the skin.

The laser energy is absorbed by hemoglobin within blood vessels and converted into heat. This produces a controlled thermal response that damages the targeted vessel, allowing it to gradually close and be cleared or remodelled by the body.

The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength penetrates more deeply and is particularly useful for selected vascular lesions, including larger or deeper vessels. The 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength offers an additional option for appropriately selected superficial vascular concerns.

Treatment parameters are adjusted according to the vessel's characteristics, anatomical location and your skin.

Clarity II also incorporates cryogen cooling technology, which helps protect the epidermis and improve comfort during treatment.

Why We Love It.

Precision Meets Versatility

Clarity II allows us to treat vascular concerns with precision, targeting the visible vessels contributing to redness rather than relying exclusively on treatments directed at the skin's surface.

Its dual-wavelength technology provides flexibility when addressing vessels of different sizes and depths, allowing treatment to be individualized.

We particularly value its ability to address isolated facial capillaries and selected vascular lesions while also offering an option for managing persistent vascular redness associated with rosacea.

For patients experiencing chronic redness, treatment can be incorporated into a broader skin health plan that considers inflammation, skin barrier function and individual triggers.

Where It Fits.

Is Clarity II Right for You?

Clarity II is our targeted vascular laser for patients whose primary concerns involve visible blood vessels, facial redness and selected vascular lesions.

Unlike LaseMD Ultra and Hollywood Spectra, which are used in our clinic primarily for pigmentation and skin quality, Clarity II's vascular protocols focus on blood vessels and their contribution to visible redness.

For patients with rosacea, the appropriate treatment depends on the predominant symptoms. Visible telangiectasias and persistent vascular redness may benefit from laser treatment, while inflammatory bumps, pustules or significant skin sensitivity may require additional medical or skincare interventions.

Our approach begins with identifying the underlying concern and determining whether laser treatment, medical management or a combination of therapies is most appropriate

Your Clarity II Treatment.

Your appointment begins with an assessment of your skin, vascular concerns and medical history. Your nurse will examine the treatment area and determine the appropriate wavelength and settings based on the vessels being addressed.

Once your skin has been cleansed and prepared, protective eyewear is provided and the laser handpiece is applied to the treatment area.

The laser delivers controlled pulses of energy to the targeted vessels while integrated cooling helps protect the skin and improve comfort.

Most patients describe the sensation as a brief snap or warming sensation.

Treatment duration varies depending on the number, size and location of the vessels being treated. Smaller areas may require only a brief procedure, while more extensive facial redness may require a longer appointment.

Following treatment, the skin may appear red or mildly swollen. Some vessels may darken temporarily before gradually fading.

Your nurse will review your expected recovery and individualized aftercare instructions before you leave.

The Things You Actually Want To Know.

Below are a few common details about our Clarity II treatment. Have a specific question? Reach out to us anytime and we'll be happy to help.

Is there any downtime?

Clarity II vascular treatments generally involve limited downtime, although recovery depends on the treatment area, vessel characteristics and settings used.

You may experience temporary redness, warmth or swelling for several hours to a few days.

Treated vessels may temporarily appear darker or more noticeable before fading. Bruising, crusting or blistering can occur, particularly following treatment of larger or more resistant vessels.

Most patients can return to their usual daily activities relatively quickly, but more intensive vascular treatments may require additional recovery.

Does It Hurt?

Most patients describe the sensation as brief snapping or warming as the laser energy is delivered.

Clarity II incorporates cryogen cooling technology to help protect the skin and improve comfort throughout treatment.

Sensitivity varies depending on the treatment area, vessel size and individual pain tolerance. Topical numbing is not routinely required for many vascular treatments.

When Will I See Results?

Results depend on the type and size of the vessels being treated.

Some small superficial vessels may appear to disappear or change immediately, while others gradually fade over the following weeks as the treated vessels are cleared or remodelled.

More extensive redness may improve progressively over a series of treatments.

For patients with rosacea, improvements in visible vessels and persistent redness may be achieved, but new vessels and redness can develop over time.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The number of treatments depends on the concern being addressed, the size and depth of the vessels, and your individual response.

Some isolated facial vessels may improve after one treatment, while larger vessels or more extensive redness may require multiple sessions.

Patients with rosacea commonly benefit from a series of treatments followed by maintenance when appropriate.

Your nurse will establish a personalized treatment plan following assessment and evaluate your response before recommending additional sessions.

What Should I Avoid Afterwards?

Following Clarity II, avoid direct sun exposure, tanning and activities that may aggravate redness or sensitivity.

Excessive heat, hot showers, saunas and strenuous exercise should be avoided during the initial recovery period, according to your treatment instructions.

Do not pick or scratch treated vessels or any areas that develop crusting.

Gentle skincare, appropriate moisturizing and daily sun protection are important throughout recovery.

For patients with rosacea, continuing an individualized skincare routine and managing known triggers can help support longer-term results.

Important Considerations

Clarity II vascular treatments require an assessment to determine the cause of redness and whether the visible vessels are appropriate for laser treatment.

Active infections, recent tanning, certain medications, impaired healing or a history of abnormal pigmentation may require treatment to be modified or postponed.

Temporary redness, swelling and darkening of treated vessels may occur. Bruising, blistering, crusting, burns, pigment changes and scarring are also possible.

Rosacea is a chronic condition. While vascular laser treatment may improve selected visible vessels and persistent redness, it does not cure rosacea or prevent future flushing and new vessel formation.

Not every vascular lesion is suitable for cosmetic laser treatment. Larger or symptomatic leg veins and unusual or undiagnosed lesions may require further medical assessment.

Your nurse will review treatment suitability, expected recovery and the importance of sun protection before proceeding.
