Chemical Peels.
Tailored Renewal
Chemical peels use carefully selected exfoliating solutions to remove damaged surface cells and improve the appearance of skin tone, texture and congestion.
At The Infirmary, we offer five professional peels from Vivier and Linder Health. From gentle exfoliation to more intensive resurfacing, each treatment is selected according to your skin's condition, concerns and tolerance.
Our approach begins with an assessment - not a predetermined peel. We'll consider your skin history, current skincare, previous treatments and recovery preferences before recommending the appropriate formulation.

How It Works.
The Science Behind Chemical Peels
Chemical peels use exfoliating ingredients to loosen and remove skin cells at controlled depths, encouraging surface renewal.
The response depends on the formulation, concentration, number of layers applied, skin preparation and individual skin characteristics.
Some peels provide gentle exfoliation with little visible shedding. Others produce more noticeable flaking or peeling as the skin renews.
A stronger peel isn't automatically a better peel. The appropriate treatment is the one that addresses your concerns while accounting for your skin's tolerance and the recovery involved.
Why We Love It.
What Makes Our Approach Different
Chemical peels allow us to tailor exfoliation to a wide range of skin concerns without relying on a single formulation for every patient.
They can be incorporated into routine skin maintenance or used more strategically within a treatment plan for congestion, pigmentation or textural concerns.
Having both Vivier and Linder Health formulations available gives us options with different treatment objectives and recovery profiles.
We also value the opportunity to pair professional treatments with appropriate home skincare. What happens between appointments plays an important role in maintaining results.

Vivier Peel
A GENTLE INTRODUCTION TO PROFESSIONAL EXFOLIATION
The Vivier Peel is a gentle professional treatment designed to refresh the complexion and address concerns such as dullness, uneven texture and congestion. Its milder approach makes it an option for patients beginning professional peel treatments or looking for surface-level skin maintenance.
Ideal For:
Dullness, mild texture concerns, congestion and patients seeking a gentler peel.
Recovery:
Generally minimal, although temporary redness, dryness or light flaking can occur.
Tx Jessner Plus
A DEEPER APPROACH TO SKIN RENEWAL
TX Jessner Plus is Vivier's advanced-strength professional peel, designed to provide more intensive controlled exfoliation. It may be selected for appropriately assessed concerns such as uneven pigmentation, congestion, fine lines and textural irregularities. Because this treatment produces a more substantial exfoliating response, skin preparation and aftercare are particularly important.
Ideal For:
Selected pigmentation concerns, congestion, fine lines and uneven texture.
Recovery:
Redness, dryness and visible flaking or peeling may occur over several days. Recovery varies with the treatment performed.
Hero Peel
THE ALL-ROUNDER FOR SKIN RENEWAL
Hero is a versatile professional peel designed to address multiple visible skin concerns, including fine lines, uneven texture and discolouration. It offers an option for patients whose concerns extend beyond a single issue and who may benefit from a broader resurfacing approach.
Ideal For:
Uneven tone, dullness, fine lines and textural concerns.
Recovery:
Low-downtime, but individual patients may still experience redness, sensitivity or flaking.
Spot(less) Peel
FOR SKIN THAT NEEDS A CLEARER DIRECTION
Spot(less) is a targeted peel developed for oily and breakout-prone skin. It focuses on concerns such as excess oil, congestion and blemishes, offering an exfoliating approach for patients whose primary goal is a clearer-looking complexion.
Ideal For:
Oily skin, clogged pores and selected acne-prone skin concerns.
Recovery:
Often limited, although redness, dryness, irritation or flaking remain possible.
Polite Peel
A GENTLER WAY TO EXFOLIATE
Polite is designed for patients who require a more gentle approach to professional exfoliation. Its formulation prioritizes hydration and skin comfort while addressing selected concerns involving texture and uneven tone. It may be considered for appropriately assessed sensitive skin, although an actively compromised barrier may need to recover before any peel is performed.
Ideal For:
Sensitive skin requiring gentle exfoliation, dryness and selected mild texture concerns.
Recovery:
Generally limited, but sensitivity and irritation are still possible.

Where It Fits.
Finding the Right Peel
Chemical peels provide a customizable approach to surface exfoliation and skin renewal.
Chemical peels may also form part of a broader treatment plan, provided procedures are appropriately spaced and the skin has recovered between appointments.
Your Chemical Peel Treatment
Your appointment begins with an assessment of your skin, treatment goals, medical history and current skincare routine.
Your nurse will review factors such as recent sun exposure, previous procedures, active skin conditions and products that may increase sensitivity.
Once the appropriate peel has been selected, the skin is cleansed and prepared before the exfoliating solution is applied.
You may experience tingling, warmth or stinging during application. Your nurse will monitor your skin's response throughout the treatment.
The finishing steps and aftercare will depend on the peel selected.
Before leaving, you'll receive instructions about cleansing, moisturizing, sun protection and when to resume your usual skincare products.

The Things You Actually Want To Know.
Below are a few common details about our chemical peel treatments. Have a specific question? Reach out to us anytime and we'll be happy to help.
Is there any downtime?
It depends on the peel.
Gentler formulations may produce little visible peeling, while more intensive treatments can cause redness, dryness, tightness and shedding over several days.
Even peels marketed as having minimal downtime can cause irritation or visible flaking. Your nurse will discuss the anticipated recovery before treatment.
Does It Hurt?
You may experience tingling, warmth or stinging while the peel is applied.
The intensity varies according to the formulation, your skin's condition and individual sensitivity. We can provide you with analgesia such as a fan during application.
Tell your nurse immediately if you experience significant discomfort.
When Will I See Results?
Your skin may appear brighter or feel smoother once any initial redness and dryness have resolved.
For concerns such as pigmentation, congestion or fine lines, improvement may develop gradually over a series of treatments.
Results vary, and a single peel will not permanently correct these concerns.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number and frequency of treatments depend on the peel selected, your concerns and your skin's response.
Some patients choose occasional peels for maintenance, while others may benefit from a structured series.
Your nurse will recommend an appropriate plan following assessment.
What Should I Avoid Afterwards?
Avoid picking, peeling or exfoliating shedding skin.
Temporarily discontinue retinoids, exfoliating acids, scrubs and other irritating products according to your aftercare instructions.
Avoid tanning and excessive sun exposure. Use gentle skincare and broad-spectrum sunscreen, and follow any additional precautions provided for your selected peel.
