Platelet-Rich Plasma.
Your own biology put to work
What is PRP?
PRP, or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is a concentrated component of your own blood that can be incorporated into select skin and hair treatments.
A small amount of blood is collected and processed to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich portion of the plasma. Platelets contain naturally occurring growth factors and signalling proteins involved in the body’s normal tissue response.
At The Infirmary, PRP can be paired with select procedures when we feel it adds value to your treatment plan.
Why Add prp?
Targeted Solutions for Skin & Hair
We may recommend PRP when we're focused on:
Skin Quality
To complement treatments designed to improve overall texture and skin quality.
Fine Lines + Texture
As part of a treatment plan focused on smoother, more even-looking skin.
Acne Scarring
To complement selected treatments targeting textural acne scars.
Hair Restoration
PRP can also be incorporated into our Hair Restoration program for appropriately selected patients experiencing hair thinning.
What Makes PRP Different?
Unique to Your Natural Biology
PRP is autologous, meaning it comes from your own blood rather than a manufactured serum.
After your blood is collected, it is processed using a specialized system to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components.
Because it's prepared from your own blood, every patient's PRP is naturally a little different.
